Who We Build For

Sectional Doors Engineered for EPC Contractors, Installers & Showrooms

A sectional door is a long-life building envelope asset, so buyers weigh thermal compliance, spring durability, safety liability and finish consistency over years of service. The recurring problems we solve are thermal loss and energy non-compliance, premature spring fatigue in high-cycle industrial use, finger-pinch and drop safety exposure, limited headroom or odd openings, and corrosion in washdown or coastal sites. As a pure manufacturer (no on-site installation), RAX ships every door with English manuals and wiring diagrams for your local team.

EPC Contractors

Applicable Standards – What Each One Covers

Standards are the trust core of a sectional door purchase. These are the European and international frameworks that govern mechanical safety, powered-door safety, wind load and acoustic/fire performance.

EN 13241

Industrial door product standard

The CE product standard for industrial, commercial and garage doors. Covers mechanical safety (operating effort, structural strength, repeated-use durability, safe glazing) and power-operated safety (pinch/shear/draw-in protection, controlled forces, stopping behaviour, EMC), plus water penetration, wind pressure resistance, thermal resistance (U-value) and air permeability. CE conformity requires initial type assessment plus factory production control, with documentation retained 10 years.

EN 12604

Mechanical aspects

Requirements and test methods for the mechanical safety of doors/gates – central to sectional-door mechanical safety: panel joints, springs, tracks and entrapment geometry. RAX’s finger-safe and anti-drop designs address this standard.

EN 12453

Safety in use of power-operated doors

Defines safety requirements for powered door operation – operating forces and entrapment protection. RAX cites EN 12453 operator safety within its CE scope.

EN 12424 / EN 12444

Wind load resistance

Classification (Class 0-5) and test method for the wind-load resistance of doors. Class 0 denotes no wind-load performance; Class 5 is exceptional, above 1000 Pa, agreed between maker and buyer.

DIN 52210 / DIN 4102

Acoustic & fire test bases

Test bases referenced for acoustic insulation (dB) and fire behaviour (B-class) of door assemblies – commonly cited in industrial sectional door listings alongside the EN/EI framework.

AS/NZS 4505 & UL

Regional counterpart support

RAX can support AS/NZS 4505 (Australia) and UL (North America) counterpart test data for market-specific compliance.

How To Specify

The Engineering Inputs We Need to Quote Your Door

A sectional door is configured to its opening and duty, not picked off a shelf. Send us the inputs below and our engineers return a proposal with technical layout and wiring diagrams – no obligation. This is the fastest path from browse to a firm quotation.

Input 01

Opening Size & Headroom

Clear width × height (mm) plus available headroom and side room – this selects the lift type (standard / high / vertical / low-headroom / side-sliding).

Input 02

Cycle Frequency

Cycles per day / duty. High-usage industrial openings need high-cycle torsion springs; this drives spring rating and operator selection.

Input 03

Thermal Requirement

Target U-value and energy-compliance goal, plus any cold-storage setpoint – governs panel thickness (40-50 mm+) and perimeter sealing.

Input 04

Wind Load Class

Site wind exposure and opening size, mapped to EN 12424 Class 0-5. Large, exposed and coastal doors need a defined class.

Input 05

Safety & Fire

Finger-safe joints, anti-drop system, photo-eyes, and any fire-rating requirement (EI60 / EI120) for compartmentation.

Input 06

Finish, Power & Control

RAL color / woodgrain / PVDF finish, panel profile, available supply (voltage/frequency) and any WiFi / RS485 / IoT control needs.

Buyer FAQ

Sectional Doors – Frequently Asked Questions

What panel thickness and U-value should I specify?

Insulated sectional doors typically use 40-50 mm PU panels; a 40-42 mm panel commonly achieves panel U ≈ 0.5-0.6 W/m²K, with whole-door U (including joints and glazing) higher. Premium EU brands publish U-values of 0.5 / 0.9 / 1.3 W/m²K across configurations. RAX manufactures 40-50 mm CFC-free PU panels and markets U-Value 0.33 W/m²K as a positioning line – we provide the verified whole-door U-value for your specific build on request.

How long do the torsion springs last in high-cycle industrial use?

Spring life scales with grade: standard residential springs ≈ 10,000 cycles, high-cycle ≈ 25,000, and industrial/high-usage springs ≈ 50,000-100,000+. A typical mid-grade industrial door lists 30,000 cycles. RAX supplies high-cycle torsion springs from its in-house component range and backs the door with a 100,000-Cycle Durability Guarantee validated in our fatigue lab.

Which lift type suits a low-headroom or odd opening?

We manufacture all five standard configurations: standard lift (most common), high lift (extra vertical rise for high ceilings), vertical lift (no horizontal run for high headroom), low-headroom/compact (minimised headroom via compact track), and side-sliding (no overhead space at all). Send us your headroom and side-room dimensions and we select the right geometry.

Are the doors finger-safe and protected against drop failure?

Yes. Finger-safe panel joint geometry that prevents finger-trap gaps is a core EN 12604 / EN 12453 compliance feature, and EN 13241 covers pinch/shear/draw-in protection. We offer a dedicated finger-safe sectional door plus an anti-drop safety system that arrests the door on cable or spring failure.

What wind-load class and fire rating can you provide?

Wind load is classified under EN 12424 / EN 12444 from Class 0 (no performance) to Class 5 (exceptional, above 1000 Pa); we engineer wind-load rated models to the class your site exposure requires. For fire compartmentation we offer EI60 / EI120 fire-rating capability on the fire-resistant variant, certified per project.

Can you match a specific RAL color or finish across a batch?

Yes. RAX runs RAL color-consistent batch production with full RAL custom (common RAL9006 silver grey, RAL9010 white, RAL7016 dark grey, RAL5010 blue), plus wood-grain transfer, PVDF coating and anodizing. Panel surfaces include flat, ribbed, cassette and orange-peel.

What are the lead time and warranty terms?

Every door is custom-engineered to your specification – any size, spec or RAL color. Lead time: sample 7-15 days, standard container 12-20 days, custom first order 20-35 days (repeat 15-20 days). Warranty: door body 2 years, operator/motor 3 years, servo motor 5 years, with free spare parts within warranty (DHL/FedEx 5-7 days). Tooling/technical drawings are archived up to 5 years with no extra tooling fee on repeat orders.

Do you install the doors on site?

No – RAX is a pure manufacturer. Every order ships with installation guides, wiring diagrams and an English manual so your local installer or maintenance team commissions the door with confidence.
