The aluminum roller shutter door uses extruded aluminum alloy profile (6063-T5) for a curtain that is roughly one-third the weight of an equivalent steel shutter. That lower mass means smaller motors, faster cycling and less wear on the drive train — while the natural aluminum oxide layer delivers excellent corrosion resistance in coastal, humid and washdown environments without painting.
RAX extrudes and roll-forms aluminum slats in single-skin and foam-filled double-skin profiles, anodized or powder-coated to any RAL color. Because the curtain is light, aluminum shutters are a strong match for high-frequency logistics openings and for sites where corrosion would shorten the life of a painted steel door.

Aluminum 6063-T5 is about one-third the weight of steel, so motors can be smaller and cycling is faster, and the natural oxide layer gives excellent corrosion resistance without painting. It is the preferred curtain for coastal, humid, washdown and high-frequency openings. Steel remains the choice where maximum strength and lowest material cost dominate.

For the highest-security exterior closures we recommend galvanized or stainless steel; our engineers match the slat profile to your security and wind requirements.
