The Up and Over Garage Door (also called tilt-up or canopy door) is a single rigid panel that pivots on side arms, swinging outward and then lifting to park horizontally beneath the ceiling. It is the most economical garage door type and remains popular in residential markets for its simplicity, fewer moving parts and lower cost compared to multi-panel sectional doors. The single-panel construction means fewer seal lines and simpler maintenance.
RAX manufactures up-and-over garage doors to any opening size (custom engineered to your specification), using galvanized steel sheet (0.4–1.5 mm) or aluminum 6063-T5 with optional PU foam insulation (40–50 mm). The pivot-arm mechanism uses spring-assisted counterbalancing validated in RAX’s 100,000-cycle fatigue lab. For industry context, standard residential springs are rated approx. 10,000 cycles (industry estimate); RAX high-cycle springs significantly exceed this. Full RAL color and wood-grain finishes are available. Note: up-and-over doors require swing-out clearance in front of the building (approx. 1000–1500 mm) during operation.

Up-and-over doors swing outward before lifting. Confirm you have approx. 1000–1500 mm clear space in front of the garage for the panel arc. If driveway space is tight, consider a sectional or side-sliding alternative.
Canopy type: panel protrudes beyond the facade when open (simpler, cheaper). Retractable type: panel retracts fully inside (neater appearance, compatible with operators). Specify your preference.
Single-panel construction in galvanized steel or aluminum. Optional PU foam backing (40–50 mm) for thermal insulation. Choose RAL color or woodgrain finish.
Manual (spring-assisted, easy lift) or powered (trolley operator with remote). For residential safety, specify force-limited operator per EN 12453 and photo-eye.
RAX supports full private-label production of the Up and Over Garage Door: custom RAL panel colors, operator matching, packaging printing and installation-manual translation (EN/ES/FR/AR/RU). Start with an OEM sample and scale to container-load branded production. Custom molds, Tooling records are archived for up to 5 years — no extra tooling fee on repeat orders, all under strict NDA.
CE marking basis. Up-and-over garage doors fall under the same product standard as sectional and roller doors.
Power-operated and mechanical safety. Spring-assisted doors must include spring-breakage protection and controlled operating forces.
Up-and-over uses a single rigid panel that swings out and lifts; sectional uses multiple hinged panels that fold along tracks. Sectional doors need no swing-out clearance and offer better insulation (thicker panels, more seal lines). Up-and-over is simpler and more economical.
Approximately 1000–1500 mm of clear space in front of the garage for the panel swing arc. If your driveway is short or opens directly onto a pavement, a sectional or side-sliding door may be more suitable.
Yes — optional PU foam backing (40–50 mm) bonded to the panel interior provides thermal insulation. However, single-panel construction has fewer seal lines than a multi-panel sectional, so overall airtightness is slightly lower.
Canopy: the panel protrudes beyond the building facade when open (simpler mechanism, lower cost). Retractable: the panel slides fully inside the garage on horizontal tracks (neater appearance, easier to motorize).
No — pure manufacturer. Ships with English manual, wiring diagrams. Remote support available.
Standard container 12–20 days. Door body 2-year warranty, operator 3 years.
