01 · Overview

Compact Sectional Door at a Glance

The Compact Sectional Door is built for openings where standard lift-clearance hardware will not fit. Its compact track geometry folds the door panels along a tighter curve from vertical to horizontal, so the headroom demanded above the lintel is dramatically reduced and the ceiling above the opening stays usable for rails, sprinklers, lighting and storage.

RAX manufactures every leaf in our own factory from 40–50 mm PU foam insulated steel sandwich panels with galvanized steel skins (0.4–1.5 mm), running on compact low-headroom track hardware with nylon PA66 rollers. Torsion springs are high-cycle units validated in our 100,000-cycle fatigue lab. Because we build to order rather than stock standard sizes, unusual openings — low lintels, sloped ceilings, tight side rooms — are normal work for us, not a special case.

Typical applications include residential garages, commercial service bays, equipment rooms and retrofit projects where the existing lintel height rules out a conventional sectional door. Send us your opening dimensions and headroom measurements, and our engineers will confirm the right lift system and return a DFM proposal with drawings.

Industry benchmark values are attributed to their sources (Hörmann via renrendoc.com; CN-export listings via ecer.com; EN standard scopes via antpedia.com / baijiahao). RAX product-specific test data (U-value, wind class, fire rating) is confirmed per project.

Key Features & Benefits

Fits Where Standard Lift Cannot

Compact track geometry folds the panels along a tighter curve, cutting the headroom needed above the lintel so low lintels and retrofit openings stay feasible.

Made to Your Opening

Custom width × height, panel height per opening, RAL color and configuration. From a single prototype door to container-load production, full flexibility on order quantity.

Durable by Test

High-cycle torsion springs validated against a 100,000-cycle fatigue testing protocol in our in-house lab.

Certified & Documented

ISO 9001:2015 and CE to EN 13241 / EN 12453, with SGS material reports.

Install-Ready Package

How to Specify (Buyer Guide)

1. Headroom & Side Room

Compact lift exists precisely for tight lintels. Measure the clear height above the opening and the side room beside it — our engineers confirm the track geometry and return drawings.

2. Panel & Insulation

Choose 40–50 mm PU foam panels for thermal and acoustic performance, then specify RAL color and surface profile (woodgrain or stucco embossment) to match the building envelope.

3. Glazing & Wicket Door

Windows bring daylight into service bays and equipment rooms; a wicket pass-door lets staff move through without running the full door. Both are laid out per panel at engineering stage.

4. Operator & Duty Cycle

Select manual operation or a chain / belt / jackshaft operator matched to your daily cycle count. Springs are cycle-rated to how the door actually runs, which keeps lifetime cost low.

05 · Customization

OEM / ODM & Customization

RAX supports full private-label production of the Compact Sectional Door: custom RAL panel colors, operator matching, packaging printing and installation-manual translation (EN/ES/FR/AR/RU). Start with an OEM sample and scale to container-load branded production. Custom molds, tooling records are archived for up to 5 years — no extra tooling fee on repeat orders, all under strict NDA.

06 · Compliance

Applicable Standards

EN 13241

Product standard for industrial doors — CE marking basis. Covers structural strength, operating forces, durability, thermal and wind performance.

EN 12424 / EN 12444

Wind load classification (Class 0–5) and test method. RAX confirms the class per project and reinforces tracks and panels accordingly.

EN 12604 / EN 12453

Mechanical safety (tracks, springs, anti-drop) and power-operated safety (force limits, entrapment protection).

What makes a compact sectional door different from a standard lift door?

A standard-lift door needs generous headroom above the lintel for the horizontal track run. A compact sectional door folds the panels along a tighter curve on low-headroom track hardware, so it fits openings where that clearance simply is not available — retrofits, low lintels, sloped ceilings and tight side rooms.

How much headroom does the compact system need?

Significantly less than a standard-lift door, but the exact figure depends on opening size and track configuration. Send us the lintel height and side room measurements and our engineers confirm the geometry with technical drawings before you order.

What sizes can you build?

Every door is custom engineered to your opening — panel height, width and layout are made to order, from a single garage-width door upward. Minimum order is one unit, factory-direct.

Can I add glazing windows or a wicket door?

Yes. Window sections for daylight and visibility, and a wicket pass-door for pedestrian access, are both standard options laid out per panel at the engineering stage. Choose your desired glazing pattern with your RAL finish.

Do you provide installation?

No — RAX is a pure manufacturer. Orders ship with English manual, wiring diagrams and pre-set operators. Remote technical support is available during installation.

What is the warranty and lead time?

Door body 2 years, operator/motor 3 years (servo 5 years). Free spare parts within warranty, DHL/FedEx 5–7 days. Lead time: standard container 12–20 days; custom first order 20–35 days.
