17 engineered roller shutter models – galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless, insulated, windproof, fire-rated and motorized – built in-house and validated under our 100,000-Cycle Durability Guarantee. CE-marked to EN 13241 with EN 12453 operator safety. Any size, any spec, custom engineered to your specification, from custom engineering to container-load delivery.
An industrial roller shutter fails you in four ways: it cannot survive the daily cycle count, it buckles under wind load on a wide exterior opening, it leaks heat through a single-skin curtain, or it falls short of the fire or safety class your project specifies. As a pure manufacturer, RAX builds the shutter, the tubular motor and the spring parts under one roof – tested from −30°C cold storage to +50°C desert – and ships full English manuals and wiring diagrams so your local team installs with confidence. Large industrial shutters start from prototype to full production runs: any size, any spec, custom engineered to your specification.
Source the full 17-model range plus matching tubular motors, openers and spring parts from one factory. RAL color-consistent batch production, OEM labeling and stable 12-day-per-container lead time keep your catalog stocked and your margins intact.
You install yourself, so you need complete parts, clear English manuals in every crate. We archive tooling and drawings up to 5 years with no extra tooling fee on repeat orders, so spares stay available for your installed base.
When the call-out is wind class, fire rating or safety compliance, you need declared EN-class data – not a vague “fire-rated” label. We work to EN 13241, EN 12424, EN 1634-1 and EN 12453 and supply the matching test documentation.
Private label, panel color, opener matching, packaging and manual translation – NDA protected with a 27-year zero-leak record. Non-standard openings are our specialty: any size, any spec, from prototype to container-load.
Every model is manufactured in-house, validated under our 100,000-Cycle Durability Guarantee and shipped with English installation manuals and wiring diagrams. Any size, any spec, custom engineered to your specification.

We do not publish invented certificates, clients or numbers.
A credible roller shutter specification names the standards it meets – and what each one actually covers. This is the difference between a declared, test-backed class and a vague marketing label. The following are the European standards that govern industrial, commercial and garage roller shutters.
The umbrella CE product standard. It explicitly covers rolling shutters and retail rolling shutters/grilles, and addresses mechanical safety (manual operating effort, strength, declared durability cycles), powered-door safety (crush/shear/entrapment, controlled forces), EMC, water penetration, wind pressure resistance (EN 12424), thermal resistance / U-value (EN 12428) and air permeability (EN 12427/12426). CE conformity uses initial type assessment plus factory production control, with technical documentation retained 10 years. It excludes fire and smoke behaviour, which route to EN 16034.
Defines operating-force limits and entrapment protection for motorized doors, and is referenced by EN 13241. Together with EN 12978 (protective devices such as safety edges and photocells), it is the basis for limiting crush and shear risk on a motorized shutter. RAX cites CE to EN 13241 and EN 12453.
Classifies the wind load resistance of closed industrial, commercial and garage doors on a Class 0-5 scale and provides the test / calculation method. Class 0 means no declared wind performance; Class 5 (above 1000 Pa) is exceptional and agreed by special arrangement. The pressure values are summarized below.
The fire test method. Integrity (E) failure includes cotton-pad ignition, sustained back-face flame >10 s, or gauge penetration of cracks. Insulation (I) limits the average back-face temperature rise to ≤140 °C (I₁: all points ≤180 °C; I₂: frame ≤360 °C, other points ≤180 °C). Radiation (W) is evaluated once the back face reaches ≥300 °C. The standard time-temperature curve is T = 345·log₁₀(8t+1) + 20.
The product standard for fire and/or smoke-resisting door and shutter assemblies. Because EN 13241 excludes fire and smoke, EN 16034 is the route to CE-marking fire performance and is used together with EN 13241.
Produces the fire classification label (for example EI₁ 60 or EI₂ 120, in minutes) from EN 1634 test data. A “fire-rated” shutter should carry both the EN 1634-1 test report and the EN 13501-2 classification – not just a marketing label.
EN 12428 sets the thermal-resistance (U-value) calculation for doors; EN 12427 is the air-permeability test method and EN 12426 the air-permeability classification. These are the referenced methods behind the insulation and draught performance declared under EN 13241.
Governs equipment intended for explosive atmospheres: Group I (mining) and Group II (surface industries); gas zones 0/1/2 and dust zones 20/21/22; Category 2/3 conformity routes; marking carries the “Ex” symbol plus “CE”. For an explosion-proof shutter, RAX supplies an explosion-proof motor marked Ex d IIB T4 (flameproof enclosure, gas group IIB, max surface temperature class T4). Note: an Ex-rated motor is a component specification – a whole-door ATEX assembly certification to a specific zone and category is a separate matter and is confirmed per project.
Reference pressure values per EN 12424 as cited within EN 13241 documentation. Classes run 0-5; the table shows the commonly referenced design / test / failure / calculation values for Classes 0-3, with Class 5 above 1000 Pa.
| Class | Design (Pa) | Test (Pa) | Failure (Pa) | Calculation (Pa) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Class 0 | ≤ 300 | 330 | ≥ 415 | 450 |
| Class 1 | ≤ 450 | 495 | ≥ 620 | 675 |
| Class 2 | ≤ 700 | 770 | ≥ 965 | 1050 |
| Class 3 | ≤ 1000 | 1100 | ≥ 1375 | 1500 |
| Class 5 | Above 1000 Pa – exceptional, by special agreement | |||
RAX markets “Wind Load Class 5 Certified” on this EN 12424 0-5 scale. (This is distinct from RAX’s proprietary spiral high-speed door “Class 12” scale, which applies to a different product family and is not used for roller shutters.) The certified class for each shutter model is confirmed by its wind load test report.
Factory and warehouse external walls, garages, retail shopfronts and malls, fire compartments, logistics openings and parking garages – engineered and tested from −30°C cold storage to +50°C desert conditions.
Galvanized steel and high-cycle shutters securing external openings, with wind-rated guides for wide bays and insulated slats to cut heat loss.
Crystal polycarbonate, perforated and grille shutters resolving the security-versus-visibility trade-off – lockable protection with daylight and display visibility.
Fire-rated shutters tested to EN 1634-1 and classified to EN 13501-2 (EI60 / EI120 capability) for compartmentation in factories, car parks and public buildings.
Motorized and manual shutters with anti-drop safety and weather sealing for parking garages, workshops and vehicle bays.
Explosion-proof shutters fitted with an Ex d IIB T4 motor for chemical and process environments, with ATEX scope confirmed per zone and category.
Stainless steel 304/316 shutters resisting corrosion in food processing, coastal and high-humidity locations where carbon steel fails.
Work through these seven points and you will have everything our engineers need to return a proposal, technical layout and the correct EN-class documentation – usually within one working day.
Give the clear structural opening width × height and the available headroom and side room. We build to any size from prototype to full production runs (custom engineered to your specification); wide openings may need wind-rated guides or multiple shutters.
Tell us the site exposure and design wind pressure. We select the EN 12424 wind class (0-5) and reinforce guides accordingly – the achievable class falls as the opening widens, so wide shutters need structural attention.
If the shutter forms part of a fire compartment, specify the required EI class and duration (e.g. EI₂ 60 / 120). We provide the EN 1634-1 test report and EN 13501-2 classification – not just a label.
For heated or cooled spaces, choose insulated double-skin slats and request the declared U-value (EN 12428) plus weather-sealed tracks to control draughts and energy loss.
State the expected cycles per day. High-frequency openings use high-duty springs and a servo drive, validated under our 100,000-Cycle Durability Guarantee.
Define corrosion (stainless 304 vs 316 for chloride), security versus visibility (crystal / perforated / grille), and any explosive atmosphere (Ex-rated motor, ATEX zone and category).
Choose manual (spring/gear) or motorized operation, tubular motor sizing, safety devices (edge / photocell / anti-drop) and connectivity (WiFi / RS485, radar / geomagnetic / light-curtain activation).
A 11,000 m² production base in Cangzhou, Hebei – roller shutters, tubular motors, openers and spring parts made under one roof, with an auto PU foam panel line, CNC punching/bending center, servo motor assembly line and a 100,000-cycle fatigue test lab. 60+ engineers, 20+ R&D engineers, exporting to 50+ countries across 5,000+ overseas projects since 1999.
Any size, any spec, any RAL color, any shutter type – large industrial shutters from prototype to full production runs, full project flexibility from prototype to container-load. Non-standard openings are our specialty.
Shutters + tubular motors + openers + spring parts from one factory, validated from −30°C cold storage to +50°C desert for consistent quality and stable lead time.
Private label: panel color, opener matching, packaging and manual translation. NDA protected, 27-year zero-leak record, standard 12 days/container.

Wind load resistance is classified to EN 12424 / EN 12444 on a Class 0-5 scale, where Class 0 means no declared performance and Class 5 is above 1000 Pa (by special agreement). RAX markets “Wind Load Class 5 Certified” on this EN 12424 scale. Note this is different from our proprietary spiral high-speed door “Class 12” scale, which applies to a separate product family. The certified class for each shutter model is provided with its wind load test report.
Yes. Fire resistance is tested to EN 1634-1 and classified to EN 13501-2 (for example EI₁/EI₂ 60 or 120, in minutes). RAX offers fire-rated capability at EI60 / EI120. Because EN 13241 excludes fire and smoke, fire performance routes through EN 16034 – and a credible fire shutter carries both the EN 1634-1 test report and the EN 13501-2 classification, not just a “fire-rated” label. We supply that documentation per model.
Precision matters here. RAX explosion-proof shutters are fitted with an explosion-proof motor marked Ex d IIB T4 (flameproof enclosure, gas group IIB, temperature class T4). That is a component (motor) specification under ATEX 2014/34/EU. A whole-door ATEX assembly certification to a specific zone (gas 0/1/2, dust 20/21/22) and category is a separate matter – we confirm the exact scope for your zone and category on the project rather than over-claiming an assembly certificate.
Every shutter is validated under our 100,000-Cycle Durability Guarantee in our fatigue test lab, with a 100,000-cycle fatigue test video/report included in the delivery package. Shutters, tubular motors, openers and spring parts are made in one factory, so cycle life is engineered into the whole system. Industry-typical design life ranges from ~10,000-20,000 cycles for retail shutters to ~25,000-100,000+ for industrial high-use shutters.
