Custom-engineered industrial roller shutter door — also built to your OEM specification.
An explosion-proof roller shutter door with Ex d IIB T4 motor and controls for potentially explosive atmospheres — chemical, oil & gas, pharma and dust-hazard zones.
Explosion-protected drive and controls for Zone 1/2 gas and dust-hazard areas — engineered to your hazardous-area classification.
The explosion-proof roller shutter door is built for openings in potentially explosive atmospheres — chemical processing, oil and gas, pharmaceutical solvent areas, and combustible-dust environments. RAX fits an explosion-proof motor marked Ex d IIB T4 (flameproof enclosure, gas group IIB, temperature class T4) and matches the control gear to the zone, so the drive cannot ignite the surrounding atmosphere.
Hazardous-area suitability is engineered per project against the site’s zone classification and the ATEX 2014/34/EU framework; RAX confirms the motor marking, enclosure and documentation for your specific zone rather than offering a blanket rating. The curtain, guides and hardware are specified to the same duty, and the door ships with full technical drawing and wiring documentation.
RAX-company facts on this page — materials, 100,000-cycle fatigue testing, certifications held, warranty and lead time — are from RAX Door Technology’s approved brand brief. Industry figures are marked [SOURCED] (with the source) or [ESTIMATE] (industry-typical, not independently verified) in the Basis column and are confirmed against your opening on the technical layout. Fire resistance (EI60/EI120) and wind-load class are project-specific capabilities we test and document per order — never blanket certificates.
Every door is engineered to your opening. The values below are the validated baseline; final figures are confirmed on your specification.

Ex d is a flameproof enclosure that contains an internal explosion and prevents it igniting the outside atmosphere; IIB is the gas group (covering gases such as ethylene); T4 is the temperature class, meaning the surface stays below 135 C. RAX fits this marking and matches the control gear to your zone.
Hazardous-area suitability is engineered and documented per project against your zone classification and the ATEX 2014/34/EU framework. Share your zone (for example Zone 1 or Zone 2 gas, or a dust zone) and we confirm the motor marking, enclosure and documentation – we do not claim a blanket rating.
Yes. A manual override (gear crank or chain) is available so the door can be operated during a power outage in critical areas, specified alongside the explosion-proof drive.
We are a pure manufacturer and do not provide on-site installation. Every order ships with an English installation manual, wiring diagrams for your local installation team; operators are pre-set and tested before dispatch.
Held: ISO 9001:2015, CE to EN 13241 (industrial door) and EN 12453 (operator safety), with SGS material reports and Product Liability Insurance. Fire resistance (EI60/EI120) and the wind-load class are project-specific capabilities we test and certify per order against the matching standard – we never overclaim a blanket rating.
