01 · Overview

Why Buyers Specify This Door

Fire compartmentation only works if the big openings close with a rated door. This range turns a large steel closure into a tested fire barrier.

Walls are rated to hold back fire for a defined period, and every opening in them must match. A fire-rated industrial steel door protects large compartment openings — between production bays, storage and escape routes — with a steel leaf, fire-resilient core and intumescent seals that expand under heat to close the gaps.

Fire rating is a per-project capability at RAX: the integrity-and-insulation class (such as EI60 or EI120) is engineered to your specification and validated by test against the matching standard, rather than claimed as a blanket certificate. Configuration can be sliding, sectional or swing, selected to the opening and the required rating.

RAX company facts are from the approved brand brief. Fire rating (EI60 / EI120) is a per-project capability, tested against the matching standard — not a held blanket certificate.

What fire ratings can you provide?

Fire rating is a per-project capability: integrity-and-insulation classes such as EI60 and EI120 are engineered to your specification and validated by test against the matching standard. We do not claim a blanket certificate — the rating is confirmed and documented for your specific door and opening.

Which standard is the door tested to?

Fire resistance is tested against the matching standard for the project, such as EN 1634-1. Tell us the standard and class your authority requires and we scope the construction and test data accordingly.

Which door types can be fire rated?

Sliding, sectional and swing steel doors can all be built as fire-rated assemblies. We recommend the configuration to suit the opening size, the required rating and how the door is used day to day.

Can the door close automatically in a fire?

Yes. Fail-safe closing options include detector-triggered and fusible-link release so the door closes on a fire signal, and smoke seals can be added to restrict smoke spread. We specify the release and safety devices to match your fire strategy.

Is the door CE certified?

Yes. We hold CE to EN 13241 and EN 12453 for operator safety, backed by ISO 9001:2015 and SGS material reports. Fire resistance test data is arranged per project. A Declaration of Conformity and test report ship with every order.

What are the lead time and warranty?

Every door is custom-engineered to your specification. Samples run 7–15 days, a standard container 12–20 days, and a first custom order 20–35 days (repeat orders 15–20 days). FOB ports are Tianjin and Qingdao, FCL and LCL.

What warranty and spare parts support do you offer?

Door body is covered for 2 years and the operator / motor for 3 years (servo motor 5 years). Free spare parts within warranty ship by DHL/FedEx in 5–7 days, and OEM projects are protected under NDA.
