Also specified as: X-Ray Shielding Door
A lead-lined hinged door purpose-built for radiology and diagnostic imaging rooms — combining radiation attenuation with the compact swing format that suits standard clinical openings.
Most diagnostic X-ray rooms use a standard hinged opening. This door delivers the required lead shielding in that familiar swing format — no structural modification for a sliding pocket, no header reinforcement for a heavy rail.
The RAX X-Ray Shielding Swing Door bonds a continuous lead sheet (typically 1–3 mmPb for diagnostic energies) to a rigid honeycomb-core leaf, then encapsulates it in a flush powder-coated or stainless skin. Heavy-duty stainless hinges carry the additional weight, and a lead-lined frame rebate with ≥ 20 mm overlap eliminates perimeter scatter leakage.
An optional lead-glass vision window lets technologists observe the patient without entering the room. The door is available single or double leaf, left or right handed, with a self-closing device to ensure it is never left ajar during exposure.
Lead equivalence (mmPb) is determined by the project’s shielding design report from a qualified radiation physicist. RAX company facts are from the approved brand brief.
Every door is engineered to your opening. The values below are the validated baseline; final figures are confirmed on your specification.
| Parameter | Specification | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Door Type | Single / double-leaf swing (hinged), lead-lined. | RAX configuration |
| Lead Equivalence | 1–3 mmPb (diagnostic X-ray range; per shielding report). | Per project |
| Lead Coverage | Continuous sheet; frame overlap ≥ 20 mm all sides. | RAX design |
| Leaf Face | Flush powder-coated steel, or stainless 304. | Per project |
| Vision Window | Optional lead glass, matching mmPb. | Optional |
| Leaf Thickness | 50–65 mm (lead + honeycomb core sandwich). | Industry-typical |
| Hinges | Heavy-duty stainless 304, rated for lead weight. | RAX design |
| Closer | Self-closing device (overhead or concealed) standard. | RAX design |
| Standard Opening | 900 × 2100 mm clear; custom on request. | Industry-typical |
| Cycle Life | 100,000 cycles validated in the RAX fatigue test lab. | RAX-measured |
Provide the shielding design report (kVp, workload, mmPb) and we engineer the leaf, hinges and closer to carry the weight safely while ensuring the door self-closes reliably after every use.
Validated substrates, processed in-house on an auto PU foam panel line and CNC punching/bending centre.
Match the door to the opening duty — keep each card to one line.
Your installers get the full document set before the door ships.
Certificates we hold today, and the project-specific test data we arrange against the matching standard.
Radiation shielding compliance is validated by the facility’s radiation protection officer; RAX supplies the door to the specified mmPb with material documentation to support your survey.
Large industrial doors from prototype to container-load delivery.
Specify lead thickness, leaf handing, face finish, vision window and closer force per room. Full OEM/ODM under NDA.
From custom engineering to container-load delivery — the document set your local installers need.
Door body 2-year warranty; operator/motor 3 years (servo 5 years). Free spare parts within warranty, dispatched DHL/FedEx 5–7 days.
Diagnostic rooms typically require 1–2 mmPb for general radiography and up to 3 mmPb for higher-workload fluoroscopy. Your radiation physicist determines the exact value from kVp, workload and occupancy factors. Send us the shielding report and we match it.
Most diagnostic rooms already have a standard hinged opening. A swing door avoids the structural work of building a sliding pocket or reinforcing a header for a heavy rail, reducing installation cost and time while delivering the same shielding.
Yes. An overhead or concealed closer is standard, ensuring the door returns to the sealed position after every pass. This prevents accidental exposure from a door left ajar.
Yes. A lead-glass window of matching mmPb equivalence lets the technologist observe the patient without entering the room. The glass is set flush in a stainless frame with continuous lead beneath.
Sample 7–15 days; standard container 12–20 days; custom first order 20–35 days, repeat orders 15–20 days. FOB Tianjin or Qingdao, FCL and LCL supported.
Factory inspection report, lead equivalence layout drawing, 100,000-cycle fatigue test record, FAI / pre-assembly photos, English installation manual + technical drawing, CE Declaration of Conformity, and export packing with traceable batch number.
Send your shielding report (mmPb), opening size and handing — we reply with a proposal and lead time.
