Horizontal sliding insulated door for high-traffic cold rooms — also searched as motorized sliding cold storage door and cold room sliding door.
A powered or manual sliding door that glides clear of the opening instead of swinging into it — ideal where forklifts, pallets and high cycle counts rule out a hinged leaf. Insulated PU panel, tight perimeter sealing and a heated track option for sub-zero rooms, built to your opening from prototype to full production runs.
One idea: a sliding leaf needs no swing clearance. In a busy cold store the floor in front of the opening stays clear for pallets and forklifts, and a wide opening can be sealed with one moving panel rather than heavy double leaves.
Hinged doors swing into the room or the corridor, so they need clear floor space, get struck by traffic and are the first thing damaged by a forklift. A sliding cold storage door parks parallel to the wall on an overhead track, leaving the opening fully usable and protecting the leaf from impact. That makes it the default choice for high-throughput chilled and frozen rooms.
RAX builds the door manual or motorized, with a servo or VFD drive for powered units and a heated track plus heated bottom edge for sub-zero rooms so the running gear never freezes up. Panel thickness, drive sizing and the final thermal figure are confirmed on your specification, and every unit is made to order from a single door, in any size and any RAL colour.
Temperature bands and panel-thickness guidance are industry-typical ranges for cold room construction; RAX confirms the exact rating for your room per project. The U-value is stated as a “down to” marketing reference for the insulated panel, not a tested door-set figure. RAX products are validated from −30 °C cold storage to +50 °C desert conditions.
Every door is engineered to your opening and your room temperature. The values below are the validated baseline; final figures are confirmed on your specification. Each row states whether the value is RAX-measured, industry-typical or set per project.

Need a U-value, air-permeability or fire figure certified for tender? We arrange third-party test data against the matching standard per project — see Compliance below.
Validated substrates, processed in-house on an auto PU foam panel line and CNC punching/bending centre. The track, rollers and drive are matched to the panel as one assembly.
High-traffic openings where floor space and cycle count favour a sliding leaf over a hinged one.
Your installers get the full document set before the door ships — the same package our EPC and distributor clients rely on.
Certificates we hold today, and the project-specific test data we arrange against the matching standard. We state held vs. per-project so you can tender honestly.
Rigorous 100,000-cycle fatigue testing, validated galvanized steel and aluminum alloy materials, and precision servo-drive manufacturing — performed in-house, not outsourced.
Large industrial doors from prototype to container-load delivery. Start with an OEM sample and scale to container-load branded production.
Every sliding cold storage door is built to your opening and your room. Send the clear opening size, the sliding direction and parking space, the room temperature band and whether you need manual or powered operation (or site photos) and our engineers return a proposal, technical confirmation and lead time.
From custom engineering to container-load delivery — the document set your local installers need.
Warranty: door body 2 years · operator/motor 3 years · servo motor 5 years. Free spare parts within warranty (DHL/FedEx 5–7 days). Lead time: sample 7–15 days · standard container 12–20 days · custom first order 20–35 days.
Choose sliding when the opening is wide, traffic is high or floor space in front of the door is needed for pallets and forklifts. A sliding leaf parks parallel to the wall on an overhead track, so it needs no swing clearance and is protected from impact. Hinged doors suit smaller pedestrian and service openings — see the RAX hinged cold room door for that case.
Yes. Powered units use a servo or VFD drive with soft start and stop, and can be activated by radar, geomagnetic loop or light curtain, with optional WiFi / RS485 remote control. Manual sliding is also available where automation is not required.
Below 0 °C, moisture freezes on the track and bottom edge. RAX fits a heated track and a heated bottom edge for sub-zero rooms so the running gear stays ice-free and the seals stay flexible — standard practice for freezer sliding doors. RAX products are validated from −30 °C cold storage to +50 °C desert conditions.
The leaf slides to one side, so you need clear wall space beside the opening roughly equal to the leaf width plus a small parking margin, and adequate headroom for the overhead track. Send your opening width and height plus a site photo and our engineers confirm the sliding direction, parking layout and feasible span on the technical drawing.
RAX holds ISO 9001:2015, CE marking against EN 13241 (industrial door product standard) and EN 12453 (operator safety), plus SGS material reports and Product Liability Insurance. Fire rating (EI60/EI120) and AS/NZS 4505 / UL counterpart test data are arranged per project, not held as standing certificates.
Yes. Every door is engineered to your clear opening, fully custom-engineered to your opening in any RAL colour. Full OEM/ODM is supported — private label, opener matching, packaging printing and manual translation (EN/ES/FR/AR/RU) — under strict NDA.
Sample orders run 7–15 days, a standard container 12–20 days, and a custom first order 20–35 days (repeat custom orders 15–20 days). FOB ports are Tianjin and Qingdao; FCL and LCL are both supported. The door body is warranted for 2 years and the operator/motor for 3 years (servo motor 5 years), with free spare parts shipped by DHL/FedEx within warranty.
Every order includes wiring diagrams, an English installation manual, FAI first-article confirmation and pre-assembly photos, a factory inspection report (speed, noise, insulation resistance, visual), the 100,000-cycle fatigue test video/report, and the CE Declaration of Conformity with the EN 13241 test report.
Send your opening size (W × H), sliding direction, room temperature band and manual or powered preference. Our engineers reply with a proposal and lead time — no obligation.
