Where ceiling space is limited or a sliding pocket cannot be built into the wall, a hermetic swing door delivers the same pressure integrity in a compact hinged format.

The RAX Hermetic Swing Door uses a cam-hinge or drop-seal mechanism: as the leaf closes, eccentric hinges or an automatic bottom drop-seal compress the perimeter silicone gasket against the frame. This creates a 4-side air-tight barrier without the overhead track depth a sliding door requires.

Available as a manual push/pull leaf with a door closer, or paired with an automatic swing operator for hands-free use, it suits hospital wards, pharma suite boundaries, laboratory containment and any pressure-rated opening where a swing format is preferred.

How is the hermetic seal achieved on a swing door?

Eccentric cam hinges pull the leaf into the frame as it closes, compressing the head and jamb gaskets. Simultaneously, an automatic drop-bottom seal lowers to seal the threshold. The combined 4-side compression creates an air-tight barrier comparable to a hermetic slider.

Does the drop seal drag on the floor?

No. The drop seal retracts automatically when the leaf opens and only descends when the leaf reaches the fully closed position. This prevents floor wear and ensures smooth manual operation.

Can it be automated?

Yes. A swing-door operator with radar or push-button activation provides hands-free use. The operator integrates with access control and BMS, and wiring diagrams ship with the door.

What pressure differential can it hold?

The compression seal is designed for typical differentials of 10–50 Pa. Achieved leakage depends on frame installation tolerance; we confirm the target on your technical layout and provide compression-test documentation.

What is the lead time?
