The stainless steel roller shutter door is built from SUS304 or SUS316 stainless for environments that destroy painted or galvanized steel: food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical washdown, chemical plants, and marine or coastal sites. Grade 304 covers general corrosive duty; grade 316 adds molybdenum for chloride, salt-air and aggressive cleaning chemicals.
Stainless combines high mechanical strength with a self-healing chromium-oxide surface, so the curtain keeps its appearance and integrity through repeated washdown and harsh atmospheres. Specify 316 when the shutter faces chlorides, salt air or aggressive cleaning chemicals – marine and coastal sites, seafood processing, and chemical plants. 304 is the cost-effective choice for general washdown and indoor corrosive duty. Tell us the exposure and we recommend the grade.
Where coated or galvanized steel would corrode and need early replacement – food, pharma, chemical and marine environments – stainless pays back through far longer service life and no coating maintenance. For ordinary dry warehouse exteriors, galvanized steel is usually the more economical choice.
