The leaves are hung on spring or gravity hinges so they swing freely in both directions. A person, trolley or forklift pushes through, and the hinges automatically return the leaves to the closed position behind them. There is no motor, sensor or power supply, so the door keeps working through washdown and power outages while still maintaining the separation between zones.
