Who We Build For

OEM Components for Door Manufacturers & Repair Services

A door is only as reliable as its components. Dimensional drift between panel batches, a spring that fails before its rated cycle life, or a roller with the wrong stem and bearing generates returns and warranty calls. RAX manufactures panels, slats, springs and hardware under one roof on an auto PU foam panel line and CNC punching/bending center – with batch traceability, SGS material reports and 100,000-cycle fatigue validation – so what you sample is what ships in every container.

Pain: dimensional & color consistency

Door Manufacturers / OEM Assemblers

You buy panels, slats, springs, tracks and hardware in volume to build your own doors. You need dimensional consistency, batch RAL color match, spring cycle life, parts completeness and stable lead time. RAX delivers full RAL color-consistent batch production, OEM labeling and packaging, and tooling/CAD archived up to 5 years with no extra tooling fee on repeat orders.

Pain: exact compatibility, fast small batches

Garage / Door Repair Services

You buy replacement springs, rollers, cables, seals and drums in small batches and need exact compatibility – wire gauge, length, cone type, roller stem and bearing. RAX supports FCL & LCL small-batch orders and ships free spare parts within warranty by DHL/FedEx in 5-7 days, so you can turn repairs around fast.

Pain: U-value & condensation control

Cold-Chain & Security Builders

Cold-chain builders need thicker (50-100 mm) insulated and thermal-break panels with low-temperature flexible seals; security and retail specifiers need extruded aluminum or polycarbonate slats for wind, impact and visibility. RAX engineers panels and slats to your thermal and wind-load requirements.

Component Specification Ranges – What to Compare

Components are specified by measurable dimensions and material grades. The ranges below are typical industry selection values – anchored where possible by published European door data and engineering references – to help you frame your enquiry. RAX confirms exact per-part values (foam density, U-value, spring cycle life, wire gauge, cable breaking load) against your drawing on the proposal.

Sectional panel thickness40 mm (standard) / 42 mm / 45 mm; cold-storage 50-100 mm. For reference, Hörmann’s EPU40 panel is 42 mm.
Steel skin thickness~0.4-0.6 mm residential; ~0.5-0.75 mm commercial/industrial. Hörmann EPU40 uses 0.7-0.75 mm steel skins. RAX substrates cover galvanized steel sheet 0.4-1.5 mm.
PU foam density~40-50 kg/m³ typical for insulated sandwich panels (industry convention). RAX panel foam thickness is 40-50 mm.
Panel U-value~0.4-0.6 W/m²K panel-only for 40-45 mm PU; ~1.0-1.6 W/m²K installed (thermal bridges at joints/edges). Hörmann documents 0.5 (panel) / 0.9 (assembled) / 1.3 (installed) W/m²K – note the important gap between panel-only and installed-door U-value.
Panel surface & finishFlat / ribbed / cassette / orange-peel; wood-grain transfer. Hörmann standard is RAL9002 interior / RAL9016 frame with woodgrain exterior. RAX offers full RAL custom, wood-grain transfer, PVDF coating and anodizing.
Max panel sizesCommonly width to ~5000 mm (motor-operated to ~5500 mm) and height to ~2500 mm as standard; non-standard sizes by custom engineering.
Roller shutter slatsAluminum insulated slats with cover heights ~40-77 mm; extruded aluminum (heavier) for security/wind; polycarbonate (crystal) for visibility. RAX uses aluminum alloy profile 6063-T5.
Spring cycle life~10,000 cycles (residential standard); ~25,000 (high-cycle / commercial); ~50,000-100,000+ (intensive industrial). RAX validates springs in a 100,000-cycle fatigue test lab.
Spring material / wireOil-tempered spring steel is standard (ASTM A229 class); galvanized or powder-coated for corrosion; music wire / stainless for special duty. Sized by wire gauge, inside diameter, length and wind direction.
Spring engineering basisTorque τ = kt·θ (kt = spring rate, θ in radians); stored energy U = ½·kt·θ²; force at drum radius F = τ/r. These relations drive spring sizing for a given door weight and drum radius.
Door trackGalvanized steel, ~1.5-3 mm gauge; 2″ / 3″ roller size; vertical + radius + horizontal sections (industry convention).
Roller / bearingNylon (PA) wheel on steel stem with sealed ball bearing (e.g. 6200-series); 2″ / 3″. RAX uses nylon PA66 track components.
Lifting cableGalvanized steel wire rope, common constructions 7×7 / 7×19; Ø ~3-6 mm (1/8″-1/4″), selected for breaking load (industry convention).
Weather / bottom sealEPDM or TPE rubber; bottom astragal / T-bar; side and top seals; flexible to ~ −30 °C. RAX supplies silicone rubber seals.

Integrity note: the Hörmann EPU40 figures (42 mm, 0.7-0.75 mm steel, U 0.5/0.9/1.3 W/m²K, RAL9002/9016, widths to 5000/5500 mm) are a published European benchmark, not RAX data. Foam density (~40-50 kg/m³), spring cycle tiers (10k/25k/100k), track gauge, cable constructions (7×7/7×19) and seal materials are industry-typical conventions. RAX’s own per-part values are confirmed against your drawing. RAX-claimable facts: substrates galvanized steel 0.4-1.5 mm / aluminum 6063-T5 / stainless 304/316, PU foam panel 40-50 mm, silicone rubber seal, nylon PA66 track, die-cast aluminum cable drum, full RAL custom, auto PU foam line + CNC punching/bending, 100,000-cycle fatigue lab, SGS material reports, and 2-year door-body warranty.

Compliance

Applicable Standards for Door Components

Components do not carry their own CE mark – they help the finished door satisfy the product standard. Knowing which standard governs each part lets you verify a supplier’s test data and traceability. RAX components support CE marking of the complete door system to EN 13241, with mechanical aspects tested to EN 12604.

EN 13241:2003 (+A2:2016)

Product Standard – Performance Characteristics

The umbrella product standard the components must help the finished door satisfy: mechanical strength, durability, safe glazing, manual-effort limits, watertightness, wind-load resistance, thermal resistance and air leakage – plus powered-door safety (crushing/shearing/drawing-in, safe forces, EMC). Conformity is by type testing plus factory production control, with required labels. RAX is CE marked to EN 13241.

EN 12604:2021

Mechanical Aspects – Test Methods

The mechanical-aspects standard most relevant to components (ICS 91.060.50). It supplies the referenced test methods and criteria – strength, durability/cycling, and mechanical safety including finger-pinch and spring/cable safety – used to demonstrate EN 13241 compliance. This is the standard your panel joint, spring and cable data should be tested against.

EN 12453:2017 (+A1:2021)

Safety in Use of Power Operated Doors

Relevant when components are part of a motorized assembly: it sets the safe force limits and protective requirements for powered doors and gates where people can reach them. Components such as safety edges and the bottom seal feed into this powered-door safety case.

EN 12978

Protective Safety Devices

Referenced by EN 13241 for the design and testing of protective safety devices – for example the safety edge integrated into a bottom seal. Meeting EN 12978 ensures the seal’s contact strip behaves as a validated protective device.

EN 12385 family

Steel Wire Rope

Lifting cables typically conform to the general steel-wire-rope standards (the EN 12385 family), which define rope construction, grade and breaking force – the basis for selecting 7×7 / 7×19 constructions and Ø for a given door load (verify per rope).

AS/NZS 4505 & UL

Australia & North America

Counterpart regional requirements. RAX can support AS/NZS 4505 (Australia) and UL (North America) counterpart test data for projects that need local-market conformity evidence alongside the CE documentation and SGS material reports.

Practical message for buyers: ask suppliers for EN 13241 / EN 12604 test data, SGS material certificates and batch traceability – not just a price. RAX ships SGS material reports, the Factory Inspection Report, CAD drawings, a traceable batch number, and the CE Declaration of Conformity with EN 13241 test report.

Buyer Guide

How to Specify OEM Door Components

Specify by measurable dimensions and grades so samples and production containers match exactly. Send us these parameters per part and we return a proposal with CAD drawings and SGS-backed material data.

Panel specification

Define thickness (40/42/45 mm; 50-100 mm for cold storage), steel-skin gauge, foam density, target U-value (state panel-only vs installed), surface profile (flat/ribbed/cassette/orange-peel), RAL color, max width/height, and whether a finger-safe joint is required.

Spring cycle life & wind

Match cycle life to duty – ~10,000 residential, ~25,000 commercial, ~50,000-100,000+ intensive industrial. Specify wire diameter/gauge, inside diameter, length, wind direction (left/right), material (oil-tempered/galvanized), cone type, and the torque (kt) at working deflection. Use τ = kt·θ and F = τ/r to check sizing against door weight and drum radius.

Track system & hardware

Specify track gauge and roller size (2″ / 3″), roller bearing type, hinge gauge and positions, torsion shaft Ø and type (tubular/solid keyed), cable-drum groove, and lifting cable Ø plus construction (7×7 / 7×19) with required breaking load.

Slats (for roller shutters)

Specify cover height, material (roll-formed vs extruded aluminum / polycarbonate), foam fill, weight per m² and wind class. Extruded aluminum outperforms foam-filled roll-formed slats for large widths and high wind load.

Seals & finishes

Choose seal material (EPDM / TPE / silicone) and low-temperature flexibility, and confirm finishes – full RAL color, wood-grain transfer, PVDF coating or anodizing – so batch color matches your sample.

Documentation & traceability

Require SGS material certificates, dimensional/CAD drawings, EN 13241 / EN 12604 test data, batch traceability and a packing list. RAX supplies all of these plus the CE Declaration of Conformity, with tooling/CAD archived up to 5 years and no extra tooling fee on repeat orders.

Buyer FAQ

OEM Door Components – Frequently Asked Questions

What panel thickness and U-value should I specify?

Standard sectional panels run 40-45 mm (RAX foam panel 40-50 mm); cold-storage panels go 50-100 mm. As a published benchmark, a leading European 42 mm PU panel achieves about 0.5 W/m²K panel-only but roughly 1.3 W/m²K installed, because of thermal bridges at joints and edges – so always compare panel-only and installed-door U-values separately. Tell us your climate and target U-value and we recommend the construction.

How do I choose the right torsion spring cycle life?

Match cycle life to duty: roughly 10,000 cycles for residential standard use, 25,000 for high-cycle/commercial, and 50,000-100,000+ for intensive industrial doors. Specify wire gauge, inside diameter, length, wind direction and cone type; sizing follows τ = kt·θ and F = τ/r against door weight and drum radius. RAX validates high-cycle springs in our 100,000-cycle fatigue test lab.

Can you match exact components for repair orders?

Yes. For repair buyers we match springs, rollers, cables, seals and drums to your existing parts by wire gauge, length, cone type, roller stem and bearing, and cable construction (7×7 / 7×19). We support small-batch LCL orders and ship free spare parts within warranty by DHL/FedEx in 5-7 days.

Are panels and components tested to EN 13241 / EN 12604?

Components help the finished door satisfy EN 13241 (the product standard) with mechanical aspects tested to EN 12604 – including strength, durability/cycling and mechanical safety such as finger-pinch and spring/cable safety. RAX supplies SGS material reports, CAD drawings, batch traceability and, for complete door systems, the CE Declaration of Conformity with EN 13241 test report. We can also support AS/NZS 4505 and UL counterpart data.

Can you match my RAL color across repeat batches?

Yes. RAX runs full RAL color-consistent batch production on an auto PU foam panel line with CNC punching/bending, plus wood-grain transfer, PVDF coating and anodizing finishes. Batch traceability and tooling/CAD archived up to 5 years (no extra tooling fee on repeat) keep color and dimensions consistent from sample to container.

What are the lead time and warranty terms?

There is a custom engineered to your specification on large industrial doors, and FCL & LCL with small batches are supported for repair buyers. Lead time is sample 7-15 days, standard container 12-20 days, custom first order 20-35 days and repeat orders 15-20 days. Door-body warranty is 2 years, with free spare parts within warranty shipped DHL/FedEx in 5-7 days.

Do you install the components on site?

No. RAX is a pure manufacturer and does not provide on-site installation. Every order ships with CAD drawings, dimensional data and English documentation so your local team can assemble confidently. We support FOB Tianjin/Qingdao with FCL and LCL shipping, steel-frame export packing and clear shipping marks.
