The anti-drop safety roller shutter is engineered so a heavy curtain can never fall uncontrolled and so people and vehicles are protected during travel. A fail-safe anti-drop brake holds the curtain if drive or spring integrity is lost, while an anti-pinch safety edge and a bottom air-bag sensor stop and reverse the door on contact with an obstruction.
Safety is designed to EN 12453 (safety in use of power-operated doors), which sets operating-force limits and entrapment protection, with photo eyes and optional light-curtain, radar and geomagnetic sensing.
