High-lead-equivalence sliding door for CT, interventional and high-workload imaging rooms
A reinforced sliding door carrying 2–4 mmPb lead shielding — engineered for the wider openings and higher workloads of CT scanners, interventional suites and linear-accelerator bunkers.
CT and interventional rooms demand wider openings for gantry and table access, and higher lead equivalence for sustained high-kVp workloads. A standard hinged lead door cannot span these openings — a reinforced sliding system is the answer.
The RAX Heavy Duty Lead Sliding Door uses a reinforced steel overhead rail with heavy-load nylon PA66 rollers to carry a leaf that can exceed 150 kg due to 2–4 mm of bonded lead. The track geometry ensures smooth travel despite the mass, and an optional servo operator provides hands-free automatic cycling for high-throughput imaging departments.
The lead sheet is continuous and overlaps the lead-lined frame by ≥ 20 mm on all sides, eliminating scatter leakage at the perimeter. A flush powder-coated or stainless face keeps the door cleanable and visually consistent with the clinical environment.
Lead equivalence (mmPb) is determined by the project’s shielding design report. RAX company facts are from the approved brand brief.
Every door is engineered to your opening. The values below are the validated baseline; final figures are confirmed on your specification.

The reinforced rail and roller assembly is selected based on final leaf weight. Confirm mmPb, opening size and operation mode on the technical layout; we verify the structural rating before production.
Validated substrates, processed in-house on an auto PU foam panel line and CNC punching/bending centre.
Match the door to the opening duty — keep each card to one line.
Your installers get the full document set before the door ships.
Certificates we hold today, and the project-specific test data we arrange against the matching standard.
Radiation shielding compliance is validated by the facility’s radiation protection officer; RAX supplies the door to the specified mmPb with structural and material documentation to support your survey.

From custom engineering to container-load delivery — the document set your local installers need.
Door body 2-year warranty; operator/motor 3 years (servo 5 years). Free spare parts within warranty, dispatched DHL/FedEx 5–7 days.
CT gantries and patient tables require wider openings (1500 mm+) than a standard hinged leaf can span. A sliding door covers this width without the swing arc, and the reinforced rail carries the heavy lead-loaded leaf smoothly.
Depending on size and lead thickness, the leaf typically weighs 100–200 kg. The rail, rollers and operator are selected to carry this mass safely over 100,000+ cycles. We provide a structural load calculation for your lintel.
Yes. A servo / VFD operator sized for the heavy leaf provides hands-free cycling with adjustable speed, soft start/stop and safety edges. Radar, push-button or access-control activation is supported.
Interventional and fluoroscopy suites with sustained high workloads typically require 3–4 mmPb. Your radiation physicist determines the exact value; we bond the corresponding thickness and verify coverage on the technical layout.
Sample 7–15 days; standard container 12–20 days; custom first order 20–35 days, repeat orders 15–20 days. FOB Tianjin or Qingdao, FCL and LCL supported.
Factory inspection report, structural load calculation, lead equivalence layout drawing, 100,000-cycle fatigue test record, FAI / pre-assembly photos, English installation manual + technical drawing, CE Declaration of Conformity, and export packing with traceable batch number.
