Peak hour at the dock, and the rapid door stops halfway down. No alarm, no error code, just a curtain hanging still while the trailer queue grows behind it. The tear that caused it began as a fingernail-sized split at the guide entry. It grew wider every time the curtain ran at full speed. A door built to travel at 0.8 to 2.5 meters per second does not fail quietly; it fails in front of everyone.

We build high-speed doors in a twenty-one product family, and every door leaves our factory with an installation manual and a test report covering speed, noise, insulation and appearance. The manual states the service intervals. A high speed door maintenance checklist is what turns those intervals into lines a person actually ticks. It runs week after week, before the queue forms.
